From the first time he climbed behind the
wheel, racing his quarter midget at five years old in San Jose,
California, Justin Lloyd has
established himself as a winner. After going to victory lane in that
first race, the successes in quarter midgets continued to build. He was
unanimously voted Jr. Rookie of the Year in 1998, when he was just six
years old. With over 150 feature wins, eight championships and nine
track records, Justin was well-known and respected among his fellow
competitors. He was commended for his etiquette both on and off the
track, and was named Sportsman of the Year each season he raced.
Switching gears and moving to North Carolina, Lloyd moved to Legends
cars in 2006 and adapted quickly. Among his most notable accomplishments
in Legends, Justin clinched the 2008 Concord Motorsports Park
Championship after winning a record 10 of the 20 races that season. He also
placed within the top-10 in the Summer Shootout Series point standings
at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in 2006 and 2008, with a top-five placing in
the Pro Division in 2009 and 2010.
In 2009, at just 17 years old, Justin Lloyd moved into ARCA RE/MAX Series competition,
with Justin making his first career start at Berlin Raceway in July.
Finishing eighth that day displayed the young driver’s immense talent
and adaptability to any racing machine he buckles into. Justin went on
to race at Toledo Speedway and the year end closer at Rockingham
Speedway.
Away from the track, Justin’s enthusiasm and work ethic continues.
Carrying back to when he earned his first racecar by scoring soccer
goals when he was five, Lloyd stops at nothing to achieve his dreams.
Earning straight-A’s in high school has fueled his efforts to one day
attain a degree in Mechanical Engineering as Justin currently attends
North Carolina State University. When he’s not hitting
the track or the books, Justin enjoys racing online, skiing, boating and
watching all other forms of sports.
Working towards his goals of becoming the best and rising to the top of
the racing industry, Justin continues to impress fellow competitors and
fans alike. Looking to keep the momentum on his side, Justin Lloyd is
preparing for a full season in ARCA for 2011.
