Rain Falls, But Justin Lloyd Shines @ Charlotte Motor Speedway |

Charlotte, N.C. (July 20th, 2010) Some race car drivers pray for rain and others hope it never comes. U.S. Legends at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Summer Shootout regularly perform in the rain and Justin Lloyd always seems to accelerate under the tough weather conditions. Last Tuesday was no different as Lloyd, of Mooresville, N.C., made his way to Victory Lane in the Legend Car Pro division after a hard down pour. Lloyd said, “Rain is the great equalizer. You have to be smooth and have good throttle control. I see drivers flying down the front stretch and I just let them go. As I come into turn 1 they are usually stuck in the soggy grass of Charlotte Motor Speedway.” Justin Lloyd started from the third position, pulled to the inside going into Turn 1, making it three-wide on the first lap. He quickly took the lead coming out of Turn 2 and never looked back, leading the race wire-to-wire for the victory. Lloyd said, “We had a great car tonight. I was able to jump into the lead heading into turn 1 and luckily never had to look back the rest of the race. It was a great win for our team and all my fans." This is Lloyd’s first win at the 2010 Summer Shootout series after a great showing the weekend before where he started 28th in the U.S. Legends $1 Million main event televised on SPEED TV and finished 7th overall. “We’ve been doing a lot of racing the past few weeks”. said Lloyd. “I feel the #15 Chris Rogers Motorsports car can propel me to the points lead at the end of the series and I look forward to the last few races."
