CONCORD,
NC (7/21/09) -
2008
Concord Motorsports Park Legends Champion, Justin Lloyd is locked and
loaded for his ARCA debut this weekend in the Wolverine Power System 200
at Berlin Raceway. Lloyd may be a rookie on the ARCA circuit, but he has
become an accomplished racer in numerous other series, and is ready to
rustle the 3,200 lb steel beasts that make up the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
"I am very excited to make my ARCA debut this weekend, I have been waiting a long time for this day to come," exclaimed Justin Lloyd. "ARCA is a super competitive series, that produces great opportunities for young racers like myself, and I am honored to have the chance to race with them." Even though Lloyd is a newcomer to the series, he has chosen some of the best veterans synonymous with ARCA to help him. Long-time crew chief and former racer, Jeff McClure will be on top of the box, calling the shots all weekend. Lloyd has also linked up with ARCA RE/MAX Series powerhouse team Venturini Motorsports to take care of the car at track and during race-time. "Justin (Lloyd) has become an accomplished racer in his young career, and he is only 17," stated Crew Chief Jeff McClure. "He has proven himself in the lower series' and now is a perfect time to transition him up to ARCA. I am excited at the opportunity to work with him this weekend, I know he will do a great job." Lloyd will be running the No. 15 LNCS-Calero Investments-RM Technology Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in Saturday nights race around the tight half-mile Berlin Raceway. The race will not be Lloyd's first experience in an ARCA car however. He participated in a test session at Hickory Motor Speedway earlier in the month to get accustomed to the car and shake it down for this weekend's shootout. Lloyd laid down some impressive laps throughout the day, and stayed very consistent as the test drew to a close. "The test up at Hickory (Motor Speedway) went really well. Jeff (McClure) and I had a chance to shake the car down and better prepare ourselves for this weekends race," said Justin Lloyd. "He (Jeff McClure) really got the car dialed in, and we ran some fast laps. I am looking forward to the race at Berlin, these ARCA cars are a lot of fun to drive, and I think we will be very competitive." Make sure to catch the No. 15 LNCS-Calero Investments-RM Technology Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS driven by ARCA RE/MAX Series newcomer Justin Lloyd this Saturday night at Berlin Raceway.
